ED grills Jagan in Chanchalguda jail

The Enforcement Directorate has begun recording the statement of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy regarding the alleged money laundering in his firms.

A team of ED officials went to Chanchalguda jail on Friday and recorded his statement. The court has granted the ED 14-day time to grill Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. ED officials posed questions regarding money being routed from abroad and in India.

The ED is probing allegations that money invested in Jagati Publications came from overseas through hawala transactions. ED has booked a separate case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and Foreign Exchange Management Act.

On the first day, the ED officials were at the jail from 10 am to 5 pm, as per the timings stipulated by the court.
