Curfew to be relaxed further today
With the situation in curfew-bound areas limping back to normal, city police relaxed curfew further on Thursday. After reviewing the situation, in-charge police commissioner Anurag Sharma relaxed curfew in Madannapet and Saidabad from 9 am to 5 pm.
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team investigating incidents of violence picked up four more persons, including a football coach Mohd. Bin Ahmed, 26, from Moghalpura on Wednesday. The other accused include Dhanraj, 30, from Kurmaguda, wall painter Syed Nabi, 26, from Moghalpura and Mohd Taher, 30, an autorickshaw driver from Kurmaguda. The accused Dhanraj was involved in stone pelting wherein one Mohd. Ibrahim Khan was injured on April 8.
Football coach Mohd. Bin Ahmed and Syed Nabi trespassed into the house of one M. Jagadamba, 60, and attacked her with a stone in Moghalpura, police said. Mohd. Taher was involved in stone pelting at Kurmaguada. Meanwhile, another place of worship was desecrated at Bahadurpura on Wednesday. A dead dog was thrown in the compound of a shrine. “Realising the mischief we acted promptly. As the locals cooperated with us, the issue was resolved,’’ said Manish Kumar Sinha, south zone DCP.
