Corporates give Rs 7cr for COP-11
Private and corporate companies have come forward to take up over Rs 7 crore worth works to beautify the city for the ensuing international conference on biodiversity, also known as Conference of Parties (COP-11).
The mural work displaying dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Kuchupudi, and Kathakali will adorn the pillars and ramps of Punjagutta flyover. The Shilparamam flyover will have the pictures of musical instruments of India. The sports theme is being planned to deck up the flyover at Gachibowli. Designs and themes that echo the culture and tradition of India, Hyderabad and biodiversity are being planned to showcase the city in all its splendour to the delegates of COP-11, which will be held from October 1 to 17.
Corporate firms will beautify central medians with greenery and flowering shrubs. Telecom and mobile phone companies are being roped in to put up messages and other forms of biodiversity conference-related arts and welcome messages on 400 hoardings located on COP-11 routes. The state government on Tuesday accorded administrative sanction for the release of Rs 15 crore to the HMDA to take up works in connection with COP-11.
