Cops arrest 4 youngsters in inebriated state

Four youngsters, including two girls, were arrested for drunkenness and for misbehaving with the police on Monday night, during a special check being conducted at checkposts by the cops following a tip-off about a kidnapping.

Police said around 2 am, a Chevrolet car drove past one of the checkposts without stopping, heading towards Mehdipatnam. Cops gave a chase, thinking it may be the kidnappers, and caught up with them at Masab Tank. In it were four people, Md Wajid, 26, Md Salman, 20, and two women, aged 28 and 19, inebriated and naked, returning from a party. When the men were asked to get out of the car, they turned abusive with the police. A case for drunken driving and for deterring a public servant from duty has been booked.
