Congress has been exposed: TRS
The Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Friday alleged that discussions on Tela-ngana in the Rajya Sabha exposed the anti-T stance of the UPA government and the Congress.
“When such an important and burning issue came up for discussion, the absence of Prime Mi-nister Manmohan Singh and Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde give credence to this,” said TRS leader T. Harish Rao.
The PM was absent when the BJP-backed private members bill on Telangana came up for discussion.
“The Congress will be buried in Telangana.
If it was committed to Telangana, the party would have said it in the Rajya Sabha. It is now clear the Congress doesn’t want to give Telangana,” he said.
Mr Rao said Telangana Congress legislators should now have to decide to whether to stay put in the party or come out and support T-cause.
He also opposed the government move to impose surcharge on electricity consumers, saying, “The consumers are already hit by huge power tariff and surcharge will be huge burden on common man.”
