‘Congress behind Ravi murder’
Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday charged the Congress government of being actively involved in planning and killing of hundreds of TD activists, including former minister Paritala Ravi and several other leaders. Resuming his Vastunna Meekosam padayatra from Garimekalapalli in Rapt-adu constituency, represented by Paritala Sunitha, on the fifth day on Saturday, Mr Naidu recalled Ravi’s efforts for the development of the region.
The TD chief alleged that some leaders were resorting to attacks on poor and downtrodden in Anantapur district after Ravi’s death. He said that Paritala Sriram will play an active role in the party affairs soon. The TD chief alleged that the state was ruined under YSR’s rule. “The governance in the state was in total chaos due to the capitalistic approach of YSR,” he said, alleging the spread of corruption in all departments.
Voicing concern over the drinking water crisis, he criticised the two ministers, belonging to the district for their apathy. Referring to the hiccups in crediting the input subsidy and crop insurance, Mr Naidu criticised the ministers for not taking measures to rescue the drought-hit farmers and assured as-sistance to the poor through the NTR Memorial Trust.
