Complaints filed on ‘shoot them’ Kavita
Separate criminal complaints were filed with the Medchal police on Sunday against Telangana Jagruti president K. Kavita and CPI state secretary K. Narayana by an advocate and three others for allegedly making inflammatory and provocative statements against ministers.
On Sunday, advocate M. Srinivas of Gandhinagar here alleged in his complaint that “Narayana, on behalf of IAS officers, had made a public statement with an intention to provoke the public at large to shoot Congress party ministers and to revolt against the ministers at the helm of affairs. K. Kavita amplified it the next day stating that ‘it is not the IAS officer who should be shot dead but Mr T.G. Venkatesh.’ She has directly taken T.G. Venkatesh’s name and those of Rayalaseema and Andhra Congress party ministers. This will create animosity among people residing in different regions.”
Complainants: Kavita’s words intentional
Advocate M. Srinivas, who filed a complaint against Telangana Jagruti president K. Kavita and CPI leader K. Narayana alleged that the statements made by both the leaders were derogatory and objectionable and amounted to sedition. “(Minister) T.G. Venkatesh’s statement was against non-performing officials and he had said that the law should be amended to that extent. But the statements of Kavita and Narayana were intentional,” Mr Srinivas said, asking for action against them under various Sections of IPC.
Meanwhile three others, G. Krishna Reddy of Mad-huranagar, R. Narayana Reddy of Vengal Rao Nagar and P.C. Reddy of Yousfuguda also filed similar complaints against Ms Kavita and Mr Narayana.
