Committee to visit Chennai, Mumbai

In view of the new set-up of the chief police commissionerate, director general of police V. Dinesh Reddy said, “The Hyderabad Commissionerate building will be at Basheerbagh and Hyderabad South commissionerate office will be at Purana Haveli.”

“Areas like Malkajgiri, Medchal, Kushaiguda, Nacharam, Neredmet, Alwal of Cyberabad will be under the Secunder-abad police commissionerate while Pahadishareef and Saroornagar of Cyberabad will go to Hyderabad South. Areas like Sanathnagar in Cyberabad will be added to the Hyderabad police commissionerate. The present Cyberabad police commissionerate will be restricted to the Hitec City area with Madhapur and other surrounding divisions. Each police commissionerate will get around 25 police stations,” said the DG.

The role of the CCP will be to coordinate with the government and the DDP on behalf of the four commissioners of police. A committee has been formed with additional DG (law and order) S.A. Huda as head and Hyderabad, Cyberabad police commissioners, additional DG (intelligence) and additional DG (CID) as members. “The committee will be visiting the Mumbai and Chennai greater police commissionarates and will submit a report within three to four weeks. The procedure will be completed in a month,” he said.
