Chandrabala to move cops on call data
The exposé of the mobile phone call data record of CBI joint director V.V. Laxminarayana has taken a curious turn. The Cyberabad police said that Vasireddy Chandrabala, the IBM employee and Mr Laxminarayana’s classmate, is likely to lodge a complaint on Monday regarding the manner in which her call data was obtained and exposed by the YSR Congress.
The party has made public a list of phone calls made and received by the joint director to a section of the media and also Ms Chandrabala. Mr Laxminarayana heads the Central Bureau of Information team investigating various corruption cases against YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The role of Inspector M. Srinivas Rao of the Nacharam police and the reporter of Sakshi newspaper in obtaining the information will be examined.
Call data obtained illegally: Cop
It was alleged that the call data record of CBI JD V.V. Laxminarayana’s classmate Vasireddy Chandrabala was obtained by providing false information to the service provider. The call data showed that calls were made between Mr Laxminarayana and Ms Chandrabala and the managing director of Andhra Jyothi, V. Radhakrishna. A police official said, “No individual can be allowed access to the call detail record and it is an offence under the Indian Telegraph and IT Act.”
