CBI to file 5 more chargesheets, may name 3 ministers
The CBI, which decided to file five more chargesheets in the Jagan Mohan Reddy assets case, is likely to name more ministers linked to 26 controversial GOs. Sources said the CBI will be filing the fourth chargesheet in the next two weeks regarding another conspiracy in quid pro quo investments into Jagan firms. CBI has already filed three separate chargesheets and a supplementary chargesheet to the first one in the case. CBI will be seeking the permission of its headquarters to name more ministers against whom they found evidence for omission and commission.
It is unlikely that the CBI would be arresting the ministers, but at least three of the six ministers facing allegations will be chargesheeted, sources said. A few IAS officials will also be named in the chargesheets. A source on condition of anonymity said, “CBI didn’t give clean chit to any minister. It will be filing four to five more chargesheets in Vanpic, water allocation to cement companies, money routing through briefcase companies and mining leases to companies.”
