Case on Harish Rao for foul language
TRS legislator Harish Rao was booked for assaulting a police inspector and abusing deputy commissioner of police, West Zone. As part of an agitation on the power situation in the state, TRS MLAs and the followers had staged a dharna at Vidhyud Soudha Khairatabad where Mr Harish Rao allegedly assaulted an inspector of police, Central Crime Station, who was on bandobust duty.
Mr Harish Rao reportedly abused West Zone DCP, Mr Stephen Ravindra too. Based on the complaint lodged by the inspector Mr Narsing Rao, the Punjagutta police booked a case against the MLA under Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging his duties). Punjagutta assistant commissioner of police, Mr J. Subbi Rami Reddy, said the DCP hasn’t filed a complaint so far, but in the complaint lodged by the inspector, he has mentioned about Mr Harish Rao abusing the DCP.
“We registered a complaint under Section 353 of IPC and investigating,” said Mr Subbi Rami Reddy.
Meanwhile, the AP IPS Association issued a resolution stating that it has taken a serious note of the derogatory remarks of Harish Rao against the DCP. They said, “While the police personnel could be seen dealing with the MLA with due deference, the MLA repeatedly called the DCP in a disrespectful manner.”
