Bodies from med college dumped in lake
Police certified that the mummified infant bodies, skeletal remains and human flesh, found in the Peddacheruvu water tank in Mahbubnagar town belonged to MBC college at Mahbubnagar.
The college was closed down after which the furniture in the labs was sold. “The person who bought the furniture dumped the bodies here and took the furniture,” said the Mahbubnagar deputy superintendent of police, Ms D. Hymavathi.
The finding of the bodies created quite a flutter in the town on Friday and police suspected that it was the result of a negligent disposal by a hospital or medical college than any foul play.
Six preserved bodies of aborted foetuses and some body parts of adults were sent for forensic examination. A medical team visited the spot and gave a report.
Hundreds of locals thronged the area. Mahbubnagar district collector Purushottam Reddy sent revenue divisional officer Venkateswara Reddy to conduct an inquiry.
