Blackout as man dies on electric pole

Hayatnagar area in city experience a black-out for a few hours on Thursday, after a 30-year-old electricity bill contractor died on an electric pole. According to the Hayathnagar police, the deceased, identified as Nagaraju, climbed up an electric pole and caught hold of the live wire at around 8 pm. Nagaraju shouted something before touching the power lines and dropped down dead.

The reason why did so was not known, said the police. He was married only four months ago and was not known to have issue with the work as well, they said. However, locals said he had a tiff with his wife, which could be why he committed the act. Meanwhile, the Hayatnagar area had black-out for several hours following the incident, though many people were unaware of the reason for the unexpected power outage. Later, the electricity authorities restored the power supply.
