Beef story spread for police picket

A person kept the police on its toes by spreading a story of beef being placed in the premises of a temple in the old city. However. inquiries by the police revealed that it was a ploy to get a police picket for his locality.

The accused has been identified as G. Shiva Kumar alias Rakesh Tej. Police said that Kumar himself placed the beef out of a sense of insecurity. The police said that on April 10 they had received a complaint that at about 4 pm that someone had put some beef at the Pochamma temple situated in SP Nagar in Nanda Muslai Guda, Bahadurpura. After investigation Kumar was arrested as it was found that he had purchased beef from a local shop and had planted it near the temple on April 10. He has been remanded to judicial custody.
