Baby strangled inside house
A two-and-a-half-month-old infant was allegedly strangled to death at Malkajgiri by an unknown intruder even though the child’s mother was present in the house.
The baby, S. Arshitha, daughter of Anusha and S. Sunil, a software engineer working with Polaris, died in Vikrampuri on Thursday night. She was strangulated on Tuesday in her home at Vaninagar.
The baby’s mother and a maid servant were in the house, but busy with some other work in another room.
Surprised at not hearing any sound from the baby for some time, the mother Anusha, went into the baby’s room only to find the child unconscious with nail marks on her throat. Little Arshita was taken to the Rainbow Hospital in Vikrampuri, but died two days later.
Malkajgiri SI V. Janaki Ram Reddy suspects that it was murder as nail marks were found on the infant’s throat. The police has booked a case under Section 302 A.
