Arrest all tainted ministers: TD
The Telugu Desam on Wednesday demanded that the CBI take all remaining tainted ministers into custody and interrogate them on 26 controversial GOs that helped YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his family amass illegal wealth. The party also expressed its disappointment with Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal’s unwillingness to check the alleged ‘misuse of media’ by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. Additionally, the party backed the fishermen's group, which has objected to a government decision to set up a petroleum coke plant in Visakhapatnam district. It demanded an immediate cancellation of the allotment of land.
“Not just Mopidevi or Ponnala, all the tainted ministers should be taken into custody and grilled by the CBI. They should not be spared at any cost,” said TD politburo member Yan-amala Ramakrishnudu. He expressed disillusionment over the CEO's failure to take action against Saakshi or to treat pro-YSRC and Jagan news as ‘paid news’. “We have lodged complaints with Srikakulam and other district media committees besides the CEO, but no action has been taken. This was despite Jagan’s media group having a single-point agenda, to defame the TD and its chief N. Chandrababu Naidu,” Mr Ramakrishnudu said. He said Mr Bhanwar Lal had taken action on several other petitions but did not act on theirs and wondered why the CEO had not put the affidavits of YSRC candidates online, like he had done for candidates of other parties.
