AP lists houses built on its property
Owners of as many as 40,000 properties in the twin cities are in trouble following the decision of the Hyderabad district administration to stop registration of their properties. District collector N. Gulzar had recently instructed the stamps and registration department to include house numbers and survey numbers of these properties in the ‘Prohibitory Property Register’ since, as per revenue records, they belonged to the government.
“The objective is to protect government lands and we have made a beginning,” the collector told this newspaper. Sources said that the highest number of properties recommended for inclusion in the prohibitory property register were located in Banjara Hills followed by areas like Balkampet, Azampura, Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Saidabad and Chikkadpally.
