ACB orders probe against IAS Meena
The ACB on Wednesday ordered a probe into possible illegal gratification of senior IAS official B. R. Meena and the chairman of APIIC S. Subrahmayam in the Emaar case. It is alleged that the duo sought Rs 35-crore villas in Dubai from Emaar MGF in return for registering the villa buyers. Advocate V. Sai Raju who filed the complaint said, “The court has ordered a probe against them. The ACB has to book a case to begin the probe. My complaint is that due to their decision the state government has lost Rs 650 crore in stamp duty. If all the villa plots were registered the state would have earned a lot of revenue. The officials stopped the registration since they were not gratified.” The advocate has produced certain documents, including the petition filed by the Emaar MGF finance head, Mr G. Vijay Raghav, in the High Court.
