ACB cop transfer not our job: Court

A division bench of Chief Justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the AP High Court on Friday declined to intervene in the transfer of K. Srinivasa Reddy, from the post of additional director of the ACB.

The state government indicated that “it will not take the officer back into the ACB, as it will set a bad precedent.”

Mr Srinivasa Reddy, who headed the special investigation team probing the liquor syndicate scam, was transferred and promoted as inspector general of coastal security, on April 3.

The bench had earlier felt there was some unexplained urgency in the promotion and transfer of Mr Srinivasa Reddy and, on April 16, asked the state government to reconsider his transfer.
