22-year-old youth ‘dies for T-state’

A 22-year-old student burnt himself to death for Telangana at Kothakota in Mahbubnagar district on Sunday, his family said. The deceased identified as D. Naresh, left behind a suicide note stating that he was depressed over the delay in carving out Telangana.

CI Venkateshwarulu of Kothakota police station said the incident took place at about 9.30 am. Naresh locked himself inside the bathroom, poured kerosene and set himself on fire. He died on the spot. A note on the TV set in his room said, “Without Telangana, youth from the region will not get jobs.” His funeral will be held on Tuesday. He was a final year BSc mathematics student.
