2 former PR men win, give solace to Congress
While Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and MP Chiranjeevi were both humiliated with the Congress’ defeat in Tirupati and Allagadda, the former Praja Rajyam chief will perhaps get some solace by the fact that the two seats that the Congress did manage to win were bagged by former PR men.
Kottapalli Subbarayudu, who won from Narsapuram, is a former minister, MP and MLA of the Telugu Desam regime who had later joined the PR. He, however, had lost in 2009.
Tota Trimurthulu, the Congress winner in Ramachandrapuram, is also a former TD man who had shifted to the PR. He, too, had lost in 2009. Both had shifted to the Congress after the PR’s merger with the party.
