Obama win made Clooney shelve film
Actor George Clooney has revealed that he had put his movie Ides Of March on hold after US President Barack Obama was elected, because he knew people wouldn’t like to watch a movie on political scandal. “We were in pre-production on this film in 2007, before the Obama election. And then we realised that a good portion of the country was elated with what happened in that election, so we had to shelve the movie until people were cynical again,” Clooney told Parade magazine.
In the film, Clooney plays the role of a Democratic presidential candidate along with actor Ryan Gosling as a campaign worker, who is forced to learn dirty tricks in the run-up to the election, reports dailystar.co.uk.

Pamela’s goodwill mission
Actress and animal rights campaigner Pamela Anderson wants to become a goodwill ambassador of United Nations.
“An aspiration of mine since I started in this business is to one day fulfil the role of goodwill ambassador to the UN. I’ve always thought this was a romantic, interesting element of stardom, back to the days of Audrey Hepburn,” contactmusic.com quoted the 44-year-old as saying.
“I’ve always included social issues as well as animal issues in whatever country I’m visiting, no matter how trivial the job may seem. I use the possibilities and opportunities I’m blessed with to bring awareness, which makes me feel great. It brings meaning to my career in a unique way,” she added.
