Madonna honoured as top touring artist

Queen of Pop Madonna will be awarded the Top Touring Artist award at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19.

The 54-year-old Like a Virgin hitmaker will be honoured for her top-grossing MDNA world tour that made a whopping USD 305 million, reported Aceshowbiz.
Her 88-day long international tour proved to be the tenth highest-earning tour of all time. MDNA album debuted at No 1 on the Billboard 200 with sale of 359,000 copies. The album also produced three Billboard Hot 100 chart-busting singles, Give Me All Your Luvin, Girl Gone Wild and Turn Up the Radio.
According to Billboard, “A cultural icon, Madonna is one of the most successful and influential entertainers of all time and was recently named Billboard's Top Money Maker of 2012.”
Madonna will be honoured alongside Prince who will receive the Billboard Icon Award during the awards ceremony.
