NCC too hot for Arya Public School
Directorate General-NCC continued their good run as they blanked Punjab’s Arya Girls Public School 6-0 in a Pool B match of the 19th Nehru junior girls hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium in the capital on Thursday.
NCC opened their account in the seventh minute through Monika Horo. Pinki Ekka yet again scored a brace for her side in the 14th and 22nd minutes. Ranjita Ming and Anjum Lakra added one each to the tally, while Horo completed the rout in the 41st minute.
In another one-sided match on the day, Maharashtra’s New English Girls School and Junior College, Nool, hammered Career Residential Academy, Thoumbal of Manipur 6-1.
Chavan Tanubai scored four goals (27th, 50th, 55th and 58th minutes). Lagali Snehal posted the first goal in 25th minute, while Thorat Snehal (29th minute) added to the tally.
S. Bindya Devi was the lone scorer for the Manipur outfit.
In a Pool E match, Ragunath Inter College from Meerut rode on Sonam’s brace to beat Dehradun’s MKP Inter College 2-1. Kavita Bisht scored an early goal in the fourth minute though it went in vain.
