Khandker to lead Uttar Pradesh

Olympian Tushar Khandker will lead Uttar Pradesh at the 3rd Hockey India senior men’s nationals in Pune, beginning on May 28, the Uttar Pradesh Hockey Association said on Friday.

The 14-day tournament will conclude on June 10 and will be held at the Shiv Chattrapati Sports Complex and the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.
Uttar Pradesh have been clubbed with last year’s runners-up Haryana, Maharashtra, Anadaman and Nicobar and Mumbai Hockey Association in Pool D.
In all, 37 teams have been divided into eight pools. Defending champions Punjab have been included in Pool A, along with Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh and Association of Indian Universities.
