Action from the Indian Air Force vs Punjab National Bank league match of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh hockey tournament at the Shiv

Indian Air Force and Punjab & Sind Bank cruised into the semi-finals of the 7th Oriental Bank-Maharaja Ranjit Singh hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium in the capital on Thursday.

Playing their last league matches on the day, Indian Air Force beat Punjab National Bank XI 2-0 in their Pool B league encounter. Sanwar Singh scored a double (23rd and 47th minutes) to secure the team’s passage into the last four, where they will face formidable Air India.
Earlier, Punjab & Sind Bank had an easy outing against Indian Navy in a Pool A game, winning 4-1.
Ramandeep Singh stood out with a hat-trick (11th, 15th and 36th minutes), while Talwinder added another in the 31st minute.
The Navymen, trailing 0-3 at half time, managed to reduce the margin through Ved Prakash in the 44th minute.
