Why men fall asleep in the middle of sex

In an era of men falling asleep before attempting sex or right after sex, there is now a new breed of men who actually fall asleep while having sex! The reason for this? In one word, fatigue! Owing to jobs in the IT sector, call centres, BPOs and MNCs, many men work during the night and chronic over scheduling, overwork, night shifts, travelling, meeting targets and deadlines, etc., have become an intrinsic part of urban life.
However, fatigue and stress inhibits desire and arousal. Physical exhaustion alone cannot be blamed and mental exhaustion is equally treacherous. Exhaustion is not gender oriented but it is often the man who is targeted as he is the one who has to “rise” to the occasion and not the woman.
Here are a few tips on how to avoid falling asleep during sex.
w Do not attempt sex at night. Try it first thing in the morning when you feel refreshed and charged.
w In real life spontaneous sex is more an exception than a rule. Work to make it happen. Expectancy adds a zing.
w Don’t binge: A pub’s happy hours may prove to be sad hours for you later. Similarly, making love after a heavy meal may actually be disastrous. Eat light or even better, eat after sex!
w Take a break: Try and have frequent vacations. You will actually find your zeal resurfacing.
w Medicheck: Sometimes work alone may not be the problem. It may be the hallmark of other health defects like anaemia, vitamin deficiency, side effects of medicines, or over enthusiastic workouts at the gym. So consult a doctor regularly.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
