Stress can cause a loss of sex drive
Q My wife gave birth to our first child two years ago. Since then, she says sex hurts too much. We want to have a second child but as my wife has this problem, we find it difficult to have sex. What should we do?
There may be several reasons why she is in pain. Any damage to her perineum and episiotomy sutures can cause pain to her when you try to penetrate. In addition, if she has an anal tear, it will further aggravate the pain. Also, if the first baby’s delivery was done using suction or forceps, this increases pain during sex. Another cause could be that she is experiencing vaginal dryness due to hormonal changes; temporary loss of sexual desire may also lead to vaginal dryness. This loss of libido may be due to the stress of bringing up the new born child or due to poor body image that developed as a consequence of bodily changes that occur during pregnancy and child birth.
Q How many times in a day can one masturbate?
Unfortunately, there are no ISI standards for masturbatory frequency. Remember that any sexual activity has to be indulged in only when there is a need and should not become a routine.
