Stars contribute to good health
The stars have always been used to predict good fortune. Now astrology is being used to determine the path to holistic well-being. Astroscience and Ayurveda have always been intertwined, opine experts.
Explains Dr K. T. Jayakrishna, a professor of Ayurveda, “The human body comprises two plains — the growth plain and the subtle plain. The subtle plain includes the effects of time and space, which is again directly related to the movements of the stars and planets.”
So how does Astroscience combine with Ayurveda to contribute to a person’s well-being? Explains Dr Pawan, who has patented ‘Astroveda’, “A dosha analysis as per Ayurveda leads to an understanding of the person’s body type (prakriti), health status and unique interaction with the environment. Personalised lifestyle and therapeutic recommendations are designed according to every individual’s astral chart.”
Combining the two sciences and creating a therapy includes use of Ayurvedic herbs and oils, gems, colours and Vedic chants. Adds Dr Pawan, “The universe exerts a powerful influence on our life and cosmic energies interact differently with physical and chemical elements in every body.”
The benefits of the combination of the two sciences are physical, mental and spiritual. “Unhealthy food habits and stress factors can cause internal imbalances, which this combo seeks to restore. “This is treatment of the individual as a whole — it’s the natural way to perfect health and harmony,” says Dr Pawan.
