Shamim Khan was named the Player of the Year in the Professional Golf Tour of India Annual Rolex Awards presented at the Jaypee Greens Course in Greater Noida.

The Delhi golfer topped the Professional Golf Tour of India’s Rankings for 2012 with a total earnings of `5,747,713. for the season.
The ‘First Time Winners’ awards were presented to Abhijit Singh Chadha, Om Prakash Chouhan, Rashid Khan and Ajeetesh Sandhu. These four professionals registered their maiden victories on the PGTI during 2012.
Chadha received the Emerging Player of the Year Award, on the basis of accumulating the highest earnings among all those professionals who made their debut as full card holders on the PGTI last year.
Chadha, who hails from Chandigarh, took home over `18 lakh in prize money last year.
