Neha clinches 7th leg
Kolkata golfer Neha Tripathi emerged winner with an impressive score of 214 at the end of Leg 7 of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour in Bengaluru.
Overnight leader Neha carded an even par 72 final round to claim the crown ahead of Vani Kapoor.
Vani turned in a sizzling card of four-under 68 at the Eagleton Golf Resort on Friday.
To put up a three-day total of 214, Neha came up with a steady final round show, with four birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to register a three-shot lead and take home the winner’s cheque of `1 lakh.
An elated Neha said, “It feels good to have won a third time in a row and I am feeling satisfied after playing under par at Eagleton. If the putting is good, it shows well in your scores too.
“The course seemed easier than before as the sky was clear and there was no wind. And now I am leading the order of merit also slightly — so it’s a very good feeling overall!”
Vani finished with a tally of 217.
Among the professionals, Ankita Tiwana and Rani Sonti with a total of 222 shared the third spot. Rookie pro Shweta Galande was fifth with a score of 223, while Smriti Mehra finished eighth.
The next leg will be played at the Karnataka Golf Association course from August 20.
