A talent hunt with surprises
In the ongoing first phase of Rising Starts Football Talent Hunt in Kerala, 120 children have been selected to the final round that will be held at the Maharaja’s College Ground in Kochi on Sunday.
The talent hunt promises to offer training for selected kids at Manchester United’s Old Trafford. After the Kochi-leg audition, the next phase for kids in north Kerala will be held in Kozhikode on August 25 and 26.
The organisers informed that according to United’s guidelines for the programme, at the end of every leg, four players including a goalkeeper will be selected for the next stage.
Individual skills is the priority for selection with specific emphasise on close-range passing, trap-and-move, head and chest, both feat, agility with the ball, dribbling, juggling and tackling skills.
The talent hunt organised by a telecommunication group is held in 16 cities in the country and those selected from each leg will further undergo training and the ultimate list of 12 members will be send for training in Manchester United Soccer School, informed the organisers.
