Prayag United pip Sambalpur in MUPC opener

The much-awaited Nike Manchester United Premier Cup kicked-off in Jamshedpur with three matches being played at the Keenan Stadium on the opening day.

In the first game, Prayag United scraped past Sambalpur FA by a solitary goal margin with Basu Mukherjee scoring the match-winner in the 26th minute.
In the next match, East Bengal thrashed Uttar Pradesh XI 4-1. For the winners, all the four strikes came from Budhwa Bara (6th, 9th, 31st and 39th minutes). Rajat Pal (8th) managed to pull one back for UP XI but was not enough to stop the red and gold brigade.
The third match of the day saw GH Football Academy Delhi play out a goalless draw against Punjab.
