Man handcuffs self to goalpost in Premier League clash
The English Premier League football clash between Everton and Manchester City saw a surprise delay five minutes before the first-half as a protestor invaded the pitch and hancuffed himself to a goalpost.
The man was reportedly protesting against Ryanair's recruitment policy after his daughter was denied a job by the airline.
A message on his T-shirt read: "Europe's greatest training robbers. Ryanair. Lowest wages guaranteed. Stop. Recruitment scamming our children."
"Bolt-cutters were used to remove the offender, who was roundly booed as he was escorted from the ground," an Everton spokesman was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
"It transpired that the supporter is a known professional protester, allegedly protesting about an airline's recruitment policy. He was arrested by Merseyside Police, who are now dealing with the matter."
Everton shocked the league leaders City 1-0 in the match on Tuesday.
