Man City just won’t make it
I don’t see Manchester City winning it. I really don’t. And I’m not talking about the title. It’s their match against Arsenal this Sunday. It’s called bottle and it seems like a bunch of them Sky Blues are hitting it, not least upfront. If Balotelli’s not plodding around like a bewildered foal you’ve got Dzeko doing an impression of Zlatan Ibramovic as seen against his former club Barcelona, but with no finesse and half the work-rate.
Speaking of Milan, Arsenal’s defeat at the San Siro was an awful yardstick for how low The Professor of Football’s philosophy had sunk. But then again, in Arsene we mustn’t trust at times because seven wins on the trot have seen them leapfrog city rivals and professional bottlers Tottenham Hotspur and into the Top 3. A far cry from the team that lost 2-8 in Manchester. But that was against the former champions and this game at the Emirates is against the Red Devils’s closest rivals.
Also, City away from home is a far cry from the team that beat the defending champions 6-1 earlier in the season. Arsene Wenger will be desperate to correct the statistics of his team’s result against the Top 5 this season. And he will take this match as a marker of how much his side has really developed.
