B.N. Railway in E.K. Nayanar Cup final
Dark horses B.N. Railway entered the final of the E.K. Nayanar Memorial Gold Cup football tournament, toppling I-league side Mumbai FC 3-2 at the Kozhikode Corporation Stadium here on Sunday.
In a match in both teams had their chances, Sujit Malo came off the bench to score the winner in the 69th minute of the match. Sujit scored from a perfect lob when the Mumbai FC goalkeeper advanced, giving his team an unassailable one-goal lead.
Christian scored the opener for B.N. Railways from a well-placed left-wing cross of Asim Das but the advantage was made void by Lalwm Puia three minutes later as he turned a header of Mumbai captain Abishek Yadav neatly into goal.
It took only five more minutes for the Mumbai side to score as Lalwm Puia scored his second goal of the match, off an assist from Haroon Fakruddin Amiri, making the score 2-1.
