Aiff under fire over payment row
Reigning I-League champions Churchill Brothers on Saturday lashed out at the All India Football Federation for failing to pay them the full winners’ prize money besides other dues, a day after the AIFF directed the club to pay salaries to two of its players.
“The failure of the AIFF to govern Indian football comes to the fore when Churchill Brothers have not been paid the full complement of the 2012-13 winners prize money of `70 lakhs, with only 30 lakhs been delivered to the club even after 60 reminders to the CEO of the I League,” club CEO, Valanka Alemao, said.
The AIFF’s players’ status committee on Friday asked Mohun Bagan and Churchill Brothers to clear the dues of all the players whose salaries the two clubs are yet to pay by December 31.
