Learn to Eat like ‘the KING’
It’s hard to imagine a man with a greater impact on music and pop culture than the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley. And despite all the talk about his later years’ obesity, Elvis was most associated with his binge-eating. Besides his pulsating pelvis and mutton chops, he in fact, also introduced the world to his famous snack, now titled The Elvis. Bananas and bacon may not be your ideal combination but it certainly got the superstar swinging. Here is a globally accepted recipe for Elvis’s preferred snack.
Ingredients
1 tbsp unsalted butter
2 slices white bread
2 tbsp peanut butter
1/2 large banana
4 slices crisp bacon
2 tsp honey
Method
Preheat a grill or griddle over medium heat.
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Spread the peanut butter on the other side of each slice of bread.
Slice the banana lengthwise to make four thin pieces and place on top of the peanut butter on one slice of bread.
Top with bacon slices and then drizzle with honey.
Place the sandwich on the griddle and cook about three minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Slice in half and serve.
Some people even like to dip their bread in a bit of maple syrup but that is optional.
