Zero tolerance for traffic offences 10 Delhi corridors

The Delhi police has identified 10 corridors, including Connaught Place Outer Circle, in the capital where it will ensure "zero tolerance" for traffic offences. This was announced by city police commissioner B.K. Gupta in a post in Traffic Police's Facebook account.

"We have identified 10 corridors where we will ensure zero tolerance of traffic offences," Gupta said. After he took charge as commissioner on November 10, Gupta said, the police have initiated certain measures to improve traffic scenario in the city.

The 10 corridors include Outer Circle in Connought Place, Ring road from Ashram to Naraina, Tilak Marg, Lodhi Road and Nelson Mandela Marg. "We will ensure substantial improvement on these stretches. With the cooperation of citizens of Delhi, we would ensure best possible traffic scene in the city," he said.

A senior police official said they would strictly implement lane driving in these 10 corridors. Buses and trucks will be in the extreme left lane, autorickshaws and other utility vehicles in the middle and cars in the right lane. The police have not started slapping fines on violators as they want to educate people before enforcing it.
