Youth stabbed to death by rivals; 3 others killed
A 19-year-old youth was among four persons killed in separate murders in the city in last 48 hours.
A senior police official said, a youth was stabbed to death by his rivals at Madangir Colony, Ambedkar Nagar area, in southeast Delhi.
The police was reported about the incident on Sunday night.
The official said the deceased, Subin, a native of Kerala, lived in the area with his family. He was preparing for engineering.
The family members of the deceased and local residents staged a protest against the local police on Monday morning and blocked the BRT for half-an-hour.
“Subin used to run a grocery shop in the area. He was returning home with his friend Shekhar when he was intercepted by his rivals who allegedly stabbed him to death. We have arrested one accused Pramod, while his accomplice Jitu is absconding. The groups often used to fight on petty issues,” said the police official.
In the second incident, a 30-year-old man was found murdered in a local EMU train at the Shakur Basti railway station.
Nothing was found on the person of the deceased that could help ascertain his identity, said a senior police official.
“The were multiple injury marks on the neck, chest, stomach and legs of the body. The body of the deceased was found in a compartment of the train that runs between Palwal and Shakur Basti,” said the police official.
The police suspects that he was killed when he resisted a robbery attempt.
The third incident was reported from New Usmanpur, northeast Delhi, where a 30-year-old man, identified as Mohammad Kalam, was killed by his colleague.
“We have registered an FIR and arrested the accused, Mohammad Kaisar who revealed that Kalam had stolen his money for which he scolded him. A scuffle started between them over the issue in which Kaisar slit Kalam’s throat with a sharp-edged weapon that led to his death,” said the police.
The police official said that Kalam’s uncle Mohammed Iqbal tried to intervene but failed to save him.
Zubair, the owner of the factory where Kamal worked, took him to a nearby hospital in an autorickshaw but he was declared brought dead.
In yet another incident, a 60-year-old man was killed in Shahdara area of northeast Delhi when he intervened in a scuffle between his son and nephew. The police said the deceased was identified as Rajinder Kumar. The police has lodged an FIR of murder and further investigation is on into the matter.
