Youth gets stuck in lift, torso severed in crash

A 22-year-old man died in a south Delhi apartment block after an elevator he was stuck in, fell from the fourth floor due to a technical problem. The incident occurred in an apartment in the R.K. Puram area of south Delhi.

The incident was reported at around 11 am from the apartment complex in R.K. Puram where senior bureaucrats reside.
The victim has been identified as Haider Ali, who works for one Swastik Company.
Ali was on top of the lift, which had developed some technical problems, when the incident took place, said sources.
“He was on top of the lift which was on the fourth floor. Suddenly, the lift came down crashing. He was stuck and his torso was severed,” said the investigating officers. Ali was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where he was declared brought dead after been taken out by a fire brigade team,” added the police.
