A Delhi police sub-inspector (S-I) was beaten black and blue in full public view by a group of six vagabonds. The accused hit the woman cop with a stick on her head and broke her cellphone so that she could not call PCR for help. Somehow, her family members got to know about the incident and called the PCR after which she was rescued and taken to Batra Hospital for treatment. She has suffered injuries all over her body.

According to information, the victim sub-inspector, lives in Sangam Vihar with her family and is posted at the Mehrauli police station in South Delhi.
A senior police official said that she was heading towards her house on July 1 at around 9.30 pm after getting down at Tigri area when two persons travelling on a motorcycle misbehaved with her
“When the woman sub-inspector objected they started hurling abuses at her. The S-I then slapped Ravi. Meanwhile, the pillion rider attacked the victim. Ravi, meanwhile ran away to call his associates,” said a police source.
Meanwhile, a neighbour of the woman sub-inspector reached the crime scene and with his help she overpowered the pillion rider and called the PCR.
In the meantime, Ravi came back with his associates wielding sticks.
They started hitting the victim and her neighbour and broke her cellphone when she tried to make a call to the PCR.
“The sub-inspector shouted for help and ran towards a betel shop for help but the shopowner did not help her. She then took shelter inside a PCO but the assailants dragged her out and thrashed her again. Her neighbour rushed to inform her family members who reached the spot after calling PCR,” said the police official.
The official said the PCR personnel nabbed the assailants with the help of the locals.
“The assailants have previous record. We have launched a manhunt to nab the accused who are absconding,” said a senior police official.
