Woman’s chopped body found in bags
The chopped body of a young, unidentified female was recovered from two bags dumped at separate places in southwest Delhi’s Inderpuri area on Thursday evening.
Police sources said the victim, believed to be around 25 years, was chopped in a “surgical manner” by the assailants and his body dumped at two separate places in Todapur area of Inderpuri.
The incident came to light when a local of Naraina Loha Mandi in Todapur made a call to the police control room at around 5.30 pm on Thursday stating that a bag was lying under a flyover and foul smell was emanating from it.
“While a PCR van was on its way to the spot, another call was received by the control room that a bag was lying at an isolated spot in Inderpuri’s Todapur village, about 2 km away from the Naraina Loha Mandi where a bag containing body parts was recovered, and that foul smell was emanating from it. Another team was rushed to the spot,” a police source said.
It took the investigators some time to figure out that the chopped pieces of a human body recovered from the two bags belonged to a female whose identity was not confirmed.
The body was without any clothes and there were no other belongings in either of the bags.
The police is suspecting that the victim may have been sexually assaulted before being killed.
“The assailants had chopped the body with surgical precision. The body parts were highly decomposed. We are trying to prepare a sketch of the victim which will be released to the media to help in the identification of the woman. A hue-and-cry notice has been issued in all the districts and a case of murder has been registered,” district commissioner of police (southwest) A.K. Ojha said.
