Woman raped at hotel in VK
A 20-year-old woman was raped in a hotel twice by two men on the pretext of providing her a job. A senior police said the victim, who hails from West Bengal, had came to Delhi in search of a job with her husband.
“One Lakshman called them and promised that he would help them in getting job. He took the woman to Hotel Chhota Sheetal where he raped her. When the victim resisted, he threatened to implicate her in a false case. Next day, Lakshman sent his friend Nayan to meet the victim. Nayan also took the woman to the same hotel and raped her. Nayan threatened her not to reveal the incident to anyone or he would get her arrested,” said the police official.
The victim narrated the incident to her husband. When her husband challenged the accused they threatened him to leave for West Bengal or get killed. The victim then decided to approach the police and got an FIR of rape registered at the Vasant Kunj North police station. The police is yet to make any arrest in the case.
In another incident, a man was arrested for allegedly raping a 25-year-old married woman. An FIR in this respect has been lodged at the South Campus police station.
A senior police official said the accused has been identified as Kamal. The official said the victim lives with her husband. The accused lived in her neighbourhood.
“The victim was sleeping when the accused barged in and raped her. Meanwhile, her husband arrived and caught the accused. Kamal thrashed her husband in a bid to flee but was caught and handed over to the police with the help of neighbours,” said the official.
