Woman killed in Jahangirpuri
A 25-year-old woman was found murdered at her house in Jahangirpuri area of northwest Delhi on Saturday night, the day Karva Chauth was celebrated in the city. The deceased, identified as Abha Gupta, a resident of I Block, lived with her husband Naresh Gupta and two children, a two-year-old son and a two-month-old daughter.
“According to the husband of the deceased, he reached home in evening and found Abha lying in a pool of blood. He rushed out of the home screaming for help. The neighbours gathered at the spot. Naresh then called the police to report the murder,” said a police official.
The officials found that the attackers had slit the throat of Abha with a sharp-edged weapon. The police said that body of the deceased has been sent to BJRM Hospital for post-mortem.
“There was a friendly entry in the house. The husband of the deceased is also under the scanner,” said the police official. The police suspect that an illicit relationship might have triggered the incident.
The police said that they have taken the statement of the neighbours of the deceased to get a lead in the incident.
“We have deputed a team for the investigation in the case. The autopsy reports are still awaited,” added the senior police official.
