Woman beaten, molested in VK

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly held hostage, molested and thrashed by two businessmen inside a flat in Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi. A senior police official said that the incident took place on Sunday night.
“We have arrested one Sunny Makkar following the complaint lodged by the victim. She told the police that she met the accused at a party. She was returning from Gurgaon when she happened to meet Sunny who offered her a lift till her home, but took the victim to his house instead. The victim has alleged that Sunny and his friend wanted to rape her,” said the police official.
The official said the victim has alleged that Sunny and his friends misbehaved with her and when she objected they molested her after holding her hostage in their flat. She somehow managed to call the police and a team was immediately sent to the spot.
Sunny was arrested from the spot while his friend managed to flee.
The police has registered an FIR against Sunny and his friend for molesting and beating up the victim. Sunny deals in real estate. The police is conducting raids to arrest his associate.

Member of mewati gang held

The crime branch arrested a member of Mewati Gang allegedly involved in the murder of a Delhi police constable. The accused was carrying a reward of `10,000 on his head.
A senior police official said that the accused, Ashfaq, alias Assa, was arrested from Lado Sarai following a tip-off. The official said that Ashfaq is an active member of Mewati Gang involved in thefts of cattle as well as other crimes in Delhi and the National Capital Region. Ashfaq is involved in criminal activities for last 5-6 years, the police claimed.
