Woman among 2 held with drugs
The crime branch of Delhi police has arrested two foreigners, including a woman, allegedly with 15 gm of cocaine. The price of the recovered cocaine is said to `15 lakhs in the international market. The accused have been identified as Cedrick Kanyeba, 26, a Nigerian national and Cherry Samson, 20, from South Africa.
“We have recovered 14 grams of cocaine from Kenyeba and one gram of the contraband from Samson. Samson claimed she had featured in a F-1 advertisement shoot held recently at Hisar in Haryana,” said a senior police official adding that the duo were arrested from Aurobindo Marg on Tuesday, after a tip-off.
According to the police, Kenyeba had come to Delhi around two years ago and started export of readymade garments from here to Lagos in Nigeria.
“After incurring huge loss in business, he came in contact with a Nigerian drug trafficker. Soon after, he started supplying cocaine. He came in contact with party girls and started supplying cocaine to them. He procured cocaine from a fellow Nigerian,” the official said. Samson, told the police that she is from Johannesburg and had done a degree course in Somatology in South Africa.
“She came to India about six months ago. She worked at a nightclub of a five-star hotel here,” the official added.
Meanwhile, a young dance teacher committed suicide on Wednesday by shooting himself with a pistol in east Delhi, the police said. Akash Sharma, 20, left behind a suicide note at his West Vinod Nagar house, indicating a failed love affair, the police said.
The pistol that he used belonged to his uncle Jagan Sharma, a resident of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.
