“A team of police officials along with the crime investigating unit (CIU) of southeast district police was immediately dispatched to the spot where they found the victim in an unconscious state. She was rushed to a nearby hospital in a PCR van where doctors declared her brought dead. The house was found ransacked and robbery was probably the motive behind the crime,” additional commissioner (southeast) Ajay Chaudhary said.
Mr Chaudhary said the deceased woman was staying with her son and his wife at the house.
“Her son and his wife had gone to Singapore to meet their son and the victim was alone along with the domestic help at the time. Her son has been informed about the incident. The Nepalese domestic help was hired two months ago and he is absconding since the murder. We have identified him and several police teams are working to nab him. He is believed to have carried out the murder for monetary purposes,” additional CP said.
