Wanted outlaw held by cops

The Delhi police has arrested a man, wanted in a MCOCA case as well as in a case of abducting his own lawyer two months ago.

The police got a tip off that Krishan Solanki, 35, allegedly involved in at least 20 cases of murder, extortion and robbery, is coming to Mundka on Monday to meet someone and it apprehended him there.
Once detained under the National Security Act, Solanki was also booked under Maharastra Control of Organised Crime Act for his alleged involvement in cases of contract killing, land grabbing and extortion in southwest and outer Delhi.
The MCOCA case had been registered in 2009 and since then he was on the run.
He was also wanted in the alleged abduction and robbery of his own lawyer on July 15 in Dwarka.
Solanki and his associates had abducted his lawyer along with his driver from his office in Palam Colony. Then they took the lawyer to a factory in Keshav Puram in his own car, the official said.
The lawyer was tortured and when his wife agreed to pay a ransom of `15 lakhs, he took him to his house.
“While they were waiting near the lift of the apartment where the money was to be delivered by the lawyer’s wife, he managed to escape from their clutches,” said DCP (crime) Ashok Chand.
In 2004, Solanki had assaulted the then deputy superintendent of Tihar Jail B.S. Bhatia inside the prisons with an improvised sharp edged weapon after the official recovered 44 gm of charas from him.
While he was in jail, he used to threaten businessmen using his associates.
