Walia visits injured, orders probe

Delhi health minister A.K. Walia ordered a departmental enquiry into the fire incident with the fire services department claiming that the organising committee had not been given an NOC to hold the event. Mr Walia said that deputy commissioner (revenue) of east Delhi, J.P. Sharma, has been asked to investigate the incident and file a report.

Dr Walia visited the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where the injured are admitted. He said 11 people were brought dead to GTB Hospital.
“34 people are admitted at GTB Hospital while one is critically injured,” a government spokesperson said. Some injured have been admitted to LNJP Hospital.
The toll may rise as many of the injured have suffered grievous burn injuries.
